Youth 1 starts with one free session. Eligible jiu jitsu, kickboxing, and conditioning programs start with a free 14-day trial. Fight Prep has no direct trial; evaluation and ongoing coach approval are required. No contracts.

Lapeer has options, but there is a real gap between a franchise curriculum taught by junior belts and an academy run by a competitive black belt couple. Members who want that level of instruction make the I-69 drive west, and tell us the difference is obvious from the first class.
- Trained by a world champion: The head coaches are a competitive black belt couple, one of them a world champion. Lapeer has martial arts; it does not have that. For serious jiu-jitsu, it is the reason people drive west.
- Not a franchise curriculum: We are not a chain running the same lesson plan in ten towns. Instruction here is built around real positions and real problems, taught through the coach's live group lesson rather than a franchise script.
- A straight run down I-69: It is highway the whole way, about thirty minutes west on I-69 into Flint. Committed Lapeer students fold it into two or three trips a week and say the instruction is worth it.
