Why Mt. Morris trains here
Mt. Morris is close enough that the drive is barely a drive, a short run south into Flint. There is no jiu-jitsu academy in Mt. Morris, so families who want real instruction head to Great Lakes BJJ, the nearest gym with full-time, black belt-led coaching.
- Barely a drive: Mt. Morris is just north of Flint, about fifteen minutes south on Saginaw Street to the gym. It is one of the shortest commutes of any town we serve, easy to fit into any weeknight.
- The real thing, nearby: There is no jiu-jitsu academy in Mt. Morris. Great Lakes BJJ is the closest gym with full-time, black belt-led instruction, a dedicated academy, not a program squeezed in elsewhere.
- Beginners start comfortable: Most members had never grappled before day one. Beginner-designated sessions focus on fundamentals and may run separately or combine with an all-levels class. Tell your partner you are new, and ask questions when needed.
